It's strange how someone can be just a few days away,
Yet leave such a silence in every moment of the day.
Your laughter still lingers in the corners of this room,
But without you here beside me, even sunshine feels like gloom....
I reach across the bed at night and find an empty space,
Then close my eyes and softly trace the memory of your face,
The clock keeps moving slowly, the stars still find their way,
But my heart has learned to measure time by how long you're away....
Every cup of morning tea, every evening sky,
Carries little pieces of you that money cannot buy,
And though I know you'll soon be here, my restless heart still roams,
Searching for your voice, your touch, the feeling of coming home....
Just four more days, they tell me, then you'll be here with me,
Four sunsets, four moonlit nights, four tides upon the sea,
Till then I'll keep your memories close, in every breath I take,
For loving you is not a choice—it's simply how I wake....
And when you walk back through that door, these lonely days will end,
I'll hold you just a little longer than I ever did then,
For every mile, every hour, every moment we're apart,
Only reminds me once again—you are my home, my heart....
