Eyes… Be Wise
Some eyes meet yours with warmth and light,
Some pass by cold, avoiding sight.
Some search for you in crowded space,
Some never pause to know your face.
Some glance at you and quickly stray,
Some look right through and walk away.
Some fear the day you’re out of view,
Some silently wait just to see you.
Some read your clothes, your skin, your style,
Some judge your worth within a while.
Some see your smile and call it grace,
Some search for flaws they can replace.
Some eyes hold storms they never share,
Some hide their pain behind a stare.
Some speak of love without a sound,
Some leave a soul completely drowned.
Some see the beauty life can weave,
Some only scars they can’t unsee.
Some carry questions deep and wide,
Some hold the answers locked inside.
Eyes can shatter, eyes can heal,
Eyes can hide what hearts still feel.
They can lift a soul above,
Or leave it aching, starved of love.
So when your gaze meets someone’s eyes,
Choose gentle truth, choose being wise.
For eyes remember, long and deep,
The wounds we give… the love we keep.
